An oasis of
health & well-being

Why Build with Wood100?
The reasons are many
This major structural building system, based on ancient construction techniques, using state-of-the-art technology, and with a totally sustainable source of material as its basic ingredient - and produced off the grid no less - is truly the ultimate cradle to cradle product.
Benefits of Wood100® DLT Building Method
We focus on being the healthiest, most sustainable home, however there are many benefits that come from adopting Wood100® DLT as your building method of choice.
A sustainable home
Construction is a major contributor to waste and everyone in the industry needs to be more responsible in the products they are leaving for future generations to manage, live with and dispose of. Our 100% Wood DLT is a completely clean, truly cradle-to-cradle product. It contains no glues or other chemicals making it 100% uncontaminated and therefore 100% recyclable wood. It can be disassembled and re-used or composted at the end of its life.

A truly healthy home
With no off-gassing from glues or contamination from chemicals, 100% Wood DLT offers a significantly healthier indoor environment, particularly for those with allergies and hypersensitivity.
Biophilia is mentioned more and more in the building industry. Biophilia is the innate human instinct to connect with nature and other living beings. Biophilic design has been found to support cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being - no wonder we should be surrounded in natural solid wood.
An energy efficient home
Some key benefits for homeowners relate to DLT energy efficiency, especially in a world of rising utility costs. Crossed DLT has superior thermal insulation: almost double the R-value of any other solid wood product. This means that you can build a highly insulated wall in a similar thickness to that of a regular framed house (14”) to reach a U-value of 0.2. Both the high thermal mass and low conductivity of solid wood result in much smaller energy requirements for heating. As a result smaller heating systems are required.

A safe home
Wood100® DLT homes have withstood fires, flooding and earthquakes. The solid wooden block remains elastic and pliable through earthquakes. The solid wood shell in Wood100® DLT acts as a safety shield from high frequency radiation for the inside of the home. The home has top fire protection values because the solid blocks of wood do not burn but simply char on the outer surface.
Design Flexibility
Building a Wood100® DLT home does not in any way restrict you to a certain style of home. Traditional, modern, urban or rural you design is limited only by the imagination or you or your architect. Different exterior finished can be used: wood siding, metal, hemp, clay, stucco for an individual finish. You will see from the Gallery that a Wood100® home offers total design flexibility inside and out.
Speedy Construction
The solid Wood100® DLT panels are constructed off-site. When the site is ready they are delivered and assembled in as little as one day. That saves construction time and money. It's also reassuring when our Canadian weather makes it imperative to seal and protect the home as quickly as possible.
